  • Whilst out cycling we decided to stop for coffee at The Old George. We were made very welcome and were able to park our bikes under shelter. We really enjoyed the coffee and indulged in some delicious, crisp, homemade chips!

About The Old George

The Old George is a dog and family-friendly 15th-century pub in the heart of Ickleford village, on the outskirts of Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

The main bar features a centuries-old inglenook fireplace, leading through to a cosy dining area. The Snug Bar is a quieter space for meeting friends.

Outside, the Courtyard Garden is a sun-trap in summer and safe for children, while the Terrace Garden — popular with dog walkers and cyclists — has views across to the local church.

Dogs are welcome throughout the pub's outdoor areas and much of the bar, on a lead.
