St Davids Day

TOG AND OUR WELSH SPECIALS TO CELEBRATE ST DAVID’S DAY

Join us at The Old George in Ickleford as we celebrate St David’s Day with a selection of Welsh-inspired specials alongside our regular favorites. Whether you’re Welsh by heritage or simply enjoy good food, we’ve put together dishes and drinks that highlight classic Welsh flavors.

Food specials (available all day)

  • Welsh Rarebit with a twist — stout-braised onions, aged cheddar, and wholegrain mustard on sourdough, finished under the grill until bubbly.

  • Lamb cawl — a hearty, slow-simmered lamb and vegetable stew served with crusty bread.

  • Glamorgan sausage — traditional Welsh cheese and leek sausage, lightly fried and served with minted pea purée and chips.

  • Bara Brith bread pudding — warm spiced fruit pudding served with clotted cream or vanilla custard.

Bar features

  • Welsh ale selection — local and imported Welsh ales on tap and in bottles.

  • Special cocktail: Black Mountain Mule — vodka, ginger, lime, and a dash of elderflower, served over ice.
